ECS is seeking a qualified Oracle DBA (Int) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy. In this role, you'll perform Oracle Database Administrator functions, including implementing, monitoring, and reorganizing databases. You will code, test, implement, and maintain database architectures. Your responsibilities will include executing utility requirements such as reorganization, back-up and recovery, and analyzing and resolving database system production problems. You will also analyze user requirements and statistics and participate in database design and performance evaluation reviews. Additionally, you will advise systems engineers on database coding issues and prepare system documentation, potentially being involved in the data modeling process. Specific tasks you will perform as a Database Administrator include supporting the availability and data protection of managed database systems. You will implement and configure backup methodologies for any managed database system component, ensuring that it is potentially restorable from backup per Mission Partner system backup standards. Daily monitoring of all backup job logs or reports will be necessary to identify any failures or issues impacting the capability to restore any managed database component or associated data. You will also test and verify backup and recovery strategies, methods, and processes for managed systems, executing the recovery or re-installation of all database system components to meet or exceed the recovery time (RTO) or recovery point (RPO) objectives specified in the system's service level agreement (SLA). Furthermore, you will implement and configure data replication schemes for managed systems to ensure data redundancy, alternate site processing capability, and system/data recoverability are continuously operational. You will install or apply the database portion of any application upgrades or new releases, software version upgrades, or other system changes. Executing any database manipulation language (DML) or database definition language (DDL) scripts or packages will also be part of your responsibilities. Lastly, you will perform tuning services to optimize the performance of the database individually or as integrated with its master application.
