About the position

The Oracle DBA Lead position is a critical role within our organization, located in San Ramon, California. This contract position requires an individual with extensive experience in database management, particularly with Oracle databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing database migration, installation, upgrades, and patching, ensuring that all database systems are running efficiently and effectively. The role demands a deep understanding of storage management techniques and the ability to configure and administer Oracle versions 12c, 18c, and 19c. In this position, the Oracle DBA Lead will be tasked with managing database performance through various tools and techniques, including AWR and ADDM. The candidate should possess excellent hands-on experience in performance analysis and tuning, as well as a solid grasp of Oracle kernel parameters tuning. Additionally, the role involves planning and implementing backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, as well as managing alerts and notifications related to database performance. The DBA will also be responsible for database cloning, initialization of parameters, and managing high-severity critical incident issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing and configuring Data Guard and Real Application Clusters (RAC), along with troubleshooting any related issues. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and Oracle Exadata/Golden Gate architecture models is essential. The role also requires knowledge of Exadata features such as Flash Cache, Storage Index, HCC, and IORM. Experience with OEM monitoring tools and utilities like Data Pump, Export/Import is also necessary. Prior experience in a DevOps/Agile environment and knowledge of ITSM tools like JIRA will be advantageous. Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS is a plus.

Responsibilities

Requirements
