About the position

The Oracle DBA Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases and infrastructure within Worldpay. This role involves ensuring database security, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and managing user accounts. The specialist will work within a dynamic team to support the critical systems that power Worldpay's global payment processing platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and infrastructure.
• Install and configure Oracle servers.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure database security and compliance with best practices.
• Perform database administration tasks including installation, upgrading, and configuration.
• Utilize Exadata features and perform full stack patching and upgrades.
• Collaborate with team members and provide technical support to end users.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Oracle database technology including RAC, ASM, performance tuning, HA, backup and recovery.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle database administration tasks.
• Understanding of Oracle Database Architecture including versions 11g, 12c, and 19c.
• Experience with Exadata and its features such as flash cache and storage index.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or Oracle Certified Specialist (OCS).
