About the position

The Oracle DBA Specialist at Worldpay is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases and infrastructure. This role involves managing user accounts, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring database security within a dynamic and evolving Database Infrastructure team. The position requires a strong understanding of Oracle database technology and hands-on experience in database administration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and infrastructure.
• Install and configure Oracle servers.
• Manage user accounts and monitor system performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure database security.
• Perform database administration tasks including upgrading and configuring databases.
• Utilize Exadata features and troubleshoot related issues.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Oracle database technology including RAC, ASM, performance tuning, HA, backup and recovery.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle database administration tasks.
• Experience with Exadata and its features.
• Understanding of security best practices related to databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or Oracle Certified Specialist (OCS).
