About the position

The Oracle DBA with Cloud experience is responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases in both traditional on-premises environments and cloud-based platforms, specifically focusing on AWS services. The role requires extensive experience with various Oracle database versions and a strong foundation in database administration, including tuning, backup, recovery, and migration to cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases in on-premises and cloud environments.
• Perform database tuning, backup, recovery, and patching.
• Utilize Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM for database management.
• Execute database migrations from Oracle to AWS cloud, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Plan and execute lift-and-shift migrations and refactor databases for cloud-native features.
• Use tools like Oracle Data Pump, AWS DMS, and GoldenGate for migration and replication.

Requirements

• At least 5-7 years of experience as a DBA with a strong foundation in database management.
• Extensive experience with Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, 19c, or later.
• Proficient in database tuning, backup/recovery, and patching.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM.
• Familiarity with AWS Database Services, including Amazon RDS for Oracle, Amazon EC2, and Amazon S3.
• Experience with database migration projects, specifically Oracle to AWS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Amazon Aurora for Oracle.
• Familiarity with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
