About the position

As an experienced Oracle DBA at Deloitte, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing Oracle databases while collaborating with a team of professionals in a supportive environment. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to contribute to innovative projects without the extensive travel demands typically associated with consulting roles. You will be part of the Project Delivery Talent Model (PDM), which focuses on long-term, onsite client service delivery, allowing you to build strong relationships with clients and engage deeply with their needs. In this role, you will be responsible for installing Oracle software, creating and managing Oracle databases, and performing necessary upgrades to ensure optimal performance. You will also manage the database's storage structures, user access, and security protocols, as well as schema objects such as tables, indexes, and views. Your expertise will be essential in making database backups and executing recovery processes when required. Additionally, you will conduct server maintenance, evaluate and install relevant patches, and diagnose issues related to Hyperion infrastructure, hardware, and software. Effective communication is key in this position, as you will regularly interact with Engagement Managers, project team members, and various functional and technical teams. You will lead client engagement workstreams focused on process improvement, optimization, and transformation, implementing best practices to enhance quality and drive operational outcomes. Your analytical skills will be vital in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to ensure successful delivery of services.

Responsibilities

  • Installing Oracle software
  • Creating Oracle databases
  • Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels
  • Starting up and shutting down the database
  • Managing the database's storage structures
  • Managing users and security
  • Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views
  • Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary
  • Server maintenance
  • Evaluating and installing relevant patches
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues with Hyperion infrastructure, hardware, and software
  • Communicating regularly with Engagement Managers and project team members
  • Leading client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Oracle Administration experience
  • 10 years of Golden Gate replication experience
  • 5 years of team leader or consulting experience
  • Understanding of the MVC architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JSPs, and servlets
  • Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases including Oracle, MongoDB, and MySQL
  • Experience with JPA, writing queries using Mongo Template, SpringJDBC Template, and Hibernate XML mappings
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel 10% on average
