About Your Team: The global Database Administration team supports all database operations within Interactive Brokers and its subsidiaries. We are seeking a hands-on Oracle DBA to join our growing team. You will support database operations in our Production, Development, and QA database environments. You will interact closely with other members of the Database Administration, Software Developers, and Operations teams. The best results come when all team members understand the business problems we are working to solve.

Responsibilities

  • Support database operations in Production, Development, and QA environments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance or availability issues.
  • Interact with database users to address issues as needed.
  • Utilize Oracle query tuning methodologies and provide tuning suggestions.
  • Work with Oracle RMAN, Flashback, DataGuard, Oracle RAC, and ASM.
  • Manage large databases and datasets effectively.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager to identify performance issues.
  • Document steps taken and methods utilized in projects.
  • Maintain availability after hours and occasionally work nights/weekends for database operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with team members to drive projects to completion.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, preferably 19c or higher on Redhat Linux.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance or availability issues.
  • Experience with Oracle query tuning methodologies.
  • Experience with Oracle RMAN, Flashback, DataGuard, Oracle RAC, and ASM.
  • Exposure to working with large databases and datasets.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, and ServiceNow.
