About the position

Leidos is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to support our Sponsor's Entitlement Programs, focusing on Identity Access Credential Management (ICAM), Authentication, Authorization, Attributes, and Digital Policy Management. This role is critical in delivering modern ICAM solutions for highly visible applications and building the next generation of applications. As a DBA, you will be responsible for performing all necessary procedures for several databases across various environments, including development, test, and production. Your primary responsibilities will include installing and maintaining database software, specifically Oracle 10G RAC, on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms. You will provide corporate applications with DBA consultation and technical support for Oracle databases, including versions 11G, 10G, 9i, and 8i. In this role, you will also be responsible for providing customers with backup and recovery capabilities, maintaining nightly backups, and recovering lost data using software such as RMAN and SQL Backtrack for Oracle. You will evaluate and update database designs for better performance, address integration between databases, and provide advice to application developers. Additionally, you will maintain database documentation and procedures, support database security, and troubleshoot technical problems. All team members will be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for one week every eight weeks, ensuring that our systems remain operational and secure at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain database software, including Oracle 10G RAC, on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
  • Provide DBA consultation and technical support for Oracle databases using Oracle 11G, 10G, 9i, and 8i.
  • Provide customers with backup and recovery capability, maintaining nightly backups and recovering lost data using RMAN and SQL Backtrack for Oracle.

Requirements

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Typically requires a Master's degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience; experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • AWS experience is required.
  • Prior experience reading and developing solutions to customer requirements is essential.
  • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL, UNIX, PostGres, and Linux is necessary.
