We are currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Dallas, Texas. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Oracle RDBMS systems, ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our client applications. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Oracle DBA will manage Oracle databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. This includes configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. The role also involves database performance tuning, planning, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-availability database environments such as RAC and Dataguard. The DBA will independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. Additionally, the DBA will refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization. The position requires providing 24x7 support for critical production systems, performing scheduled maintenance, and supporting release deployment activities after hours. The DBA will also share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members, and will work directly with end customers, business stakeholders, and technical resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Oracle databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Database performance tuning.
  • Planning, deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting of high-availability database environments (RAC, Dataguard, etc.).
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
  • Work directly with end customer, business stakeholders as well as technical resources.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience on Oracle 11.x/Above versions in database administration, in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers is required.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience with database administration.
  • Experience managing databases on Exadata.
  • Experience with incident and problem queue management.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle.
  • Experience working with Linux, Windows & Unix servers.
  • Experience with scripting.
  • Experience in SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Experience on Exadata, OEM, etc.
  • Experience supporting Logical DBA activities.
  • Experience complex query tuning and schema refinement.

  • OCA, OCP, and/or OCM certifications a plus.
