About the position

The Oracle DBA position at Centroid Systems involves providing expert database administration services, focusing on Oracle databases, including versions 12c and 19c. The role requires extensive experience in production support, database upgrades, and performance tuning, as well as a strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture. The position is fully remote and emphasizes teamwork and problem-solving skills to support complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for Oracle databases including 12c and 19c.
• Manage GoldenGate replication setups across different Oracle Database releases.
• Upgrade databases to version 19c and perform platform migrations.
• Tune database performance and ensure optimal operation of Oracle RDBMS.
• Utilize RMAN for backup and recovery processes.
• Implement and upgrade Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and other database features.
• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control for database management.
• Develop and maintain scripts using shell and Python for automation tasks.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with production support experience.
• Minimum 2 years working with Oracle Engineered Systems (ODA, Exadata).
• Strong track record in supporting complex GoldenGate replication setups.
• Hands-on experience upgrading databases to 19c and performing migrations.
• Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture and performance tuning.
• Expert level knowledge of RMAN and experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
• Proficient in using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide accurate effort estimates and deliver on commitments.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with creative thinking.
• Experience in a 24x7 SLA-based Global Support Operations team.
• Ability to work productively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI), including ExaCS and DBCS.
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure.
