About The Position
The Oracle DBA position at one of the largest financial institutions in the world involves a long-term commitment to managing and optimizing Oracle databases. This role is crucial for ensuring the performance and reliability of complex applications that rely on these databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for performance optimization of complex application SQLs by analyzing different explain plans, which is essential for maintaining the efficiency of database operations. The DBA will also be tasked with optimizing database performance through adjustments to SQLs, indexing, and database configuration settings. This proactive approach is vital for minimizing downtime and ensuring that applications run smoothly. In addition to performance optimization, the Oracle DBA will resolve database-related issues promptly, which is critical for reducing downtime for applications. This requires a collaborative spirit, as the DBA will work closely with application teams and L2/L3 DBA support to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively. Strong communication skills are essential, as the DBA must convey technical information clearly and maintain a healthy attitude in a fast-paced environment. The role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite in either Tampa, FL, or Irving, TX, and offers a duration of 18 months. This position is only available for W2 employees, with no C2C options.
