About the position

The Oracle DBA position is a critical role focused on the transition of application areas from non-Oracle Database Management Systems (DBMS) to Oracle. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the migration process is seamless and efficient, while also developing new applications on the Oracle platform. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle's tools and utilities, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing applications to ensure compatibility with Oracle's database solutions. The DBA will work closely with application teams to ensure that their packaged software solutions integrate effectively with Oracle, providing support and guidance throughout the transition process. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of the database systems, and the DBA will play a key role in enhancing the overall functionality of the applications being transitioned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the transition of application areas from non-Oracle DBMS to Oracle.
• Develop new applications on the Oracle platform.
• Ensure that packaged software solutions work well with Oracle.
• Provide support and guidance to application teams during the transition process.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing applications for compatibility with Oracle.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Tools and Utilities.
• Experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a UNIX environment.
• Familiarity with Oracle versions 7.2.3 and/or 7.3.
