About the position

Harmonia Holdings Group, LLC is seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As an award-winning minority and female-owned federal government contractor, we are committed to providing innovative, high-performing solutions to our government clients. This position is currently remote, but some onsite work may be required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall technical implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned DBA tasks. This includes supporting and maintaining large multi-terabyte Oracle 19c databases in both production and non-production environments. The DBA will also support the development staff to ensure optimal query configuration and response time for performance tuning. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, along with 4-5 years of experience in Oracle development and production database administration. Advanced knowledge and experience with Oracle 19c, including upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting, is essential. The DBA will be expected to have expertise in database modeling, creating data marts, and implementing Oracle disaster recovery solutions such as Data Guard and Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC). Additionally, the role requires knowledge of performance tuning, security measures, and monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. The DBA will also be responsible for gathering and compiling data necessary to analyze various database products, evaluating data to identify problems, and recommending solutions to improve database performance. The ability to manage routine operations and maintenance of databases while ensuring their reliable and efficient performance is crucial. Knowledge of security hardening for Oracle databases and experience with Redhat Linux and MS Windows Server are also important for this role. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain large multi-terabyte Oracle 19c databases in production and non-production environments.

  • Evaluate data to quickly identify problems, issues, and gaps.
  • Recommend solutions to improve database performance.

  • Implement Oracle disaster recovery solutions such as Data Guard and Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC).
  • Perform database modeling and create data marts.
  • Conduct upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting of Oracle databases.
  • Utilize monitoring and administration tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Oracle development and production database administration.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Oracle 19c.
  • Experience with Oracle upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge in database modeling and creating data marts.
  • Experience with Oracle DR solutions - Data Guard, Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
  • Knowledge of performance tuning (AWR, ADDM, ASH) and Grid Control (19c).
  • Familiarity with AWS tools such as DMS, RedShift, Aurora, Amazon RDS.
  • Experience with monitoring and administration tools (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
  • Knowledge of security hardening (encryption) for Oracle databases.
