About the position

Knowledge Services is seeking an Oracle Developer for a contract to hire opening with the State of Indiana. This role offers a terrific work-life balance with a hybrid work schedule, allowing for 2 days a week of remote work after an initial onsite training period. The position requires local candidates who can interview in person and offers full state benefits upon conversion to a full-time state employee.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and coordinate for day-to-day deliverables for the team.
• Assist in the technical design of large business systems; build/maintain/support applications and interfaces between applications.
• Understand data security, retention, and recovery.
• Research technologies independently to recommend appropriate solutions and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards.
• Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, and scalability.
• Guide and mentor the team during the build and test phases.

Requirements

• 7+ years advanced experience with development, enhancements, maintenance of Oracle Reports 12c in a 3-tier environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Expert knowledge and implementation of complex SQL, PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers using Oracle 19c/23ai with 7+ years' experience.
• Expert knowledge of Oracle 19c/23ai new features of SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, and Tuning required.
• Experience working with Oracle 19c/23ai databases required.
• Extensive experience integrating Reports in an Oracle Application Server 19c/23ai environment required.
• Experience with Linux OS - Red Hat and Unix OS.
• Thorough knowledge of shell scripting (bash, PERL, AWK, SED).
• Proficient in interfacing with UI teams/Java applications for backend integration and using XML, JSON, etc.
• Knowledge of designing and developing platform-level components including event architectures and messaging is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Development life cycles, SVN Software Version Control, Software Testing, Coding Standards, and Practices.
• Ability to understand complex business rules and translate them into system design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in leading or participating in projects working in an Agile Scrum delivery framework.
