About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to join our team, responsible for the effective provisioning, operation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role involves providing technical support, guidance, and hands-on delivery in the planning, implementation, and ongoing operation of databases. The Systems Engineer will participate in technical research and development to foster continuous innovation within the infrastructure. This position ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with organizational values and regulatory requirements. This position is located in our USA VA Fort Belvoir -- USAVAFOR1 office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Preferred work location is one of our CGI offices in the Northern Capital Region; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Personnel shall be available to periodically support meetings at (Fort Belvoir, VA) or other places of performance in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure.
• Provide technical support, guidance and hands-on delivery in the planning, implementation, and ongoing operation of databases.
• Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.
• Document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
• Depict complex ideas, issues, and designs to varied audiences; communicate project objectives, scope, and status to project teams.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field.
• Five (5) years' experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server database administration and analysis support.
• Fully trained and experienced with the Windows and HP Unix operating systems (Windows Server 2016 / HP-UX 11.3.x), Oracle Database 11g database technology, PL/SQL programming, Oracle stored procedures, database performance tuning, E-R database design principles and methodology, backup and recovery, systems analysis, security practices and system documentation.
• Fully trained, and industry recognized Microsoft Certified personnel experienced and familiar with both Windows 2016 and operating systems, SQL Server 2012 database administration, T-SQL programming, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, systems analysis, security practices and system documentation.
• Security Clearance: Secret.
• DoD 8570.01-M Certification: DFARS 252.239-7001 Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification is required for this position.
• IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level: IAT Level II.
• IA Baseline Certification: Attachment_3_DOD 8570 Approved Baseline Certifications_Full_20210526.
• CE/OS Certificate: Attachment_4_DLA Approved CS CE List_v28_20230221. Certification must be applicable to the Oracle based DAI Application Environment.
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
