About the position

As a Database Analyst Advisor at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our clients' capabilities by transforming data into actionable insights. This role requires a deep understanding of various data types, database functionalities, compliance standards, and availability requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring effective communication among stakeholders, including customers, project managers, and engineers, to facilitate project success. In your capacity as a Database Analyst Advisor, you will be tasked with designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, ensuring their security, access, and comprehensive documentation. Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, implement, and administer databases, ensuring security, access, and documentation.
  • Lead the design and implementation of complex data infrastructures to support customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data scientists, and project managers.
  • Perform all aspects of database engineering and administration, including installation, deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct database security analysis and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Manage database systems in high availability and system redundancy environments.
  • Write and update technical documentation related to data systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least eight (8) years of related experience in database engineering and administration for complex and high-volume data processing.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience with Oracle databases, including design, installation, administration, upgrading, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience in the lifecycle of database engineering and administration, including design, deployment, maintenance, and backup/recovery.
  • Current expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SQL*Plus, and SQL Developer.
  • Extensive experience in database architecture, design, and processing models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with administration and configuration of database solutions for document and geospatial data.
  • Prior experience supporting database systems for the Sponsor or the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Experience delivering or integrating solutions using RDBMS and NoSQL technologies.
  • Competence in scripting languages such as Windows, Korn/Bash, Perl, and Python.
  • Experience transitioning solutions from RDBMS to NoSQL technologies.
  • Experience in cloud environments.
