You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you. The contract duration is 11 months. In this role, you will develop, maintain, test, and debug software to meet generally defined requirements in a Windows client/server environment utilizing software development languages/environments such as PL/SQL, Oracle, Progress 4 GL Application Development Environment (ADE), .Net, Microsoft SQL, or another platform. You will formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding for the purpose of developing or modifying moderately complex information systems. Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining programs. You will become familiar with most aspects of the application including reports, parameters, claims management, intake services, carrier/client interfaces, and vendor/business partner interfaces. Analyzing user needs as required, you will assist in the design of specifications to meet end-user needs. Additionally, you will develop and modify software to meet the specifications outlined in data processing requests, maintain software to meet requirements of insurance carriers and regulatory groups, and test and debug assigned projects. You will also assist in testing projects for other members of the programming staff and prepare documentation on new or existing software. Furthermore, you will investigate call escalations from the support staff, make necessary corrections to data and/or software, and assist in the professional growth of programmers. Following departmental pre-established standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development is essential, as is adhering to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer service to our clients. Keeping abreast of software development, language revisions, and technology advances will also be part of your responsibilities, along with performing other duties as assigned and supporting the organization's quality program(s).
