About the position
The Oracle OCI Engineer position is focused on managing and optimizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. The role involves scripting, security implementation, and deployment of multi-tier applications, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery. The engineer will leverage their extensive IT experience to enhance application performance and security within OCI.
Responsibilities
- Experience with Terraform and Stacks for scripting repeatable tasks, including provisioning, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Implement and monitor OCI security, including Ingress/Egress Rules, Security Lists, IAM Policies, and IAM Domains.
- Manage client's Oracle workloads and technology landscape for OCI suitability, including OCI Network and Security design for complex architectures.
- Deploy multi-tier applications on OCI IaaS and PaaS services, including Database, Compute, Storage, Backup, Network, Security, and Load Balancing.
- Leverage OCI services to improve application performance, security, and availability.
- Utilize programming languages such as Python, shell scripting, or Go Lang.
- Understand cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, and vulnerability assessments.
Requirements
- 12+ years of overall IT experience.
- Proven experience in managing Oracle workloads and technology landscape for OCI suitability.
- Experience in deploying multi-tier applications on OCI IaaS and PaaS services.
- Knowledge of OCI networking, including FastConnect, VPN, and Local and Remote Peering.
- Experience working in an OCI environment, including architecture best practices related to Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM, Databases, and Middleware.
Nice-to-haves
- Good knowledge and experience in Docker, OKE, and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of database monitoring/alerting solutions using OEM, AppDynamics, Splunk, and similar solutions.
