About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer position in Houston, TX, is a long-term role focused on database development and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PL/SQL development, including strong skills in SQL tuning and data analysis to resolve performance issues. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database features and the ability to work with complex database structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PL/SQL code for database applications.
• Optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries for performance improvements.
• Analyze data to debug and resolve performance issues.
• Utilize Oracle features such as partitions, dbms jobs, and user-defined types in development.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement database solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years and maximum of 10 years of working experience in total.
• Strong PL/SQL development skills.
• Proficient in database development utilizing partitions, dbms jobs, packages, procedures, functions, and Oracle user-defined types.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL tuning skills.
• Data analysis skills to debug, trace, and fix performance problems.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Oracle Exadata.
• Familiarity with SingleStore/MySQL is a big plus.
• Experience with Python and exposure to DB connect libraries such as requests, json, and pandas.
