About the position

The Oracle PL SQL Developer position is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC, focused on developing and maintaining database applications. The developer will be responsible for reviewing requirements, enhancing data models, and creating technical deliverables while ensuring compliance with project methodologies. This role requires strong PL/SQL and SQL programming skills, as well as experience in web development and integration design.

Responsibilities

• Review Functional and Technical requirements for clarity.
• Research and analyze existing business documents and processes, including forms and reports, and assist in making recommendations about improvements to processes.
• Identify and validate business rules.
• Assist with application design and analysis, providing input to database design.
• Document application design and system architecture in accordance with NC DPI standards.
• Perform PL/SQL development and SQL programming, including code documentation and unit testing.
• Engage in web development tasks as required.
• Design integration for data exchange, import, and export.
• Enhance the data model and write stored procedures.
• Build technical deliverables as directed by the Project Manager and Applications Development/Data Management Team Manager.
• Create and validate reports, including record control counts and validation checks per specifications.
• Resolve issues found in functional, performance, regression, or acceptance testing.
• Document all technical deliverables, including database schemas, file extracts, intermediate tables/files, reports, processes, procedures, and scripts.
• Document data retrieval methods via ETL, FTP, and other means, including source, destination, schedule, and job controls.
• Provide training to NC DPI support staff for the maintenance/support of technical deliverables built.
• Complete Application Developer and DBA tasks in accordance with client project methodology and to the satisfaction of management.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in Oracle database development, code documentation, and unit testing.
• 5 years of experience in PL/SQL development and SQL programming.
• 5 years of experience in enhancing data models and writing stored procedures.
• 5 years of strong support experience with the ability to resolve application issues found during testing or in production.
• 3 years of experience in integration design for data exchange, import, and export, familiar with ETL and FTP processes.
• 3 years of experience in designing application frameworks based on requirements documentation utilizing Oracle Database.
• 3 years of experience in documenting application analysis/design and system architecture, including database schemas and data retrieval methods.
• 3 years of experience in transitioning application maintenance/support to others, including providing PL SQL training and support to technical staff.
• 3 years of experience in researching/analyzing functional requirements, including business rule identification and validation, business documents, and process improvements.

Nice-to-haves

• 3 years of experience in designing application frameworks based on requirements documentation utilizing Oracle Database.
• 3 years of experience in documenting application analysis/design and system architecture, including database schemas and data retrieval methods.
