About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer role is a hands-on position based in Charlotte, NC, requiring the candidate to work onsite three times a week. This is a contract position with a duration of one year, focusing on critical programming and data processing tasks within a large data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle PL/SQL programming, with a minimum of seven years of experience, and a strong background in Oracle SQL, also with at least seven years of experience. The role involves working with data warehouses and large data processing for a minimum of five years, which is essential for the position. The day-to-day responsibilities include working with Oracle Exadata versions 19c, 12c, or above, and dealing with outdated ETL processes as the company is preparing for a Google Cloud migration. The candidate will primarily use PL/SQL for troubleshooting and will need to understand dynamic SQL and parallel processing. The role does not involve creating reports but focuses on preparing data to facilitate easier reporting processes. The candidate will be involved in gathering requirements from teams focused on small business lending and digital analytics, and will work on transforming data into the analytic space, particularly with nCino. The position also requires performance tuning and a fundamental understanding of data operations behind the scenes. The candidate will need to have experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys or Control M, and familiarity with Unix shell scripting is important. The role is technical in nature, requiring a deep understanding of PL/SQL and data manipulation, including the use of JSON functions and indexing for large datasets. Previous experience with Wells Fargo or similar environments is preferred, as the candidate will be expected to handle complex data processing and automation tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL code for data processing and ETL tasks.
  • Work with Oracle Exadata versions 19c, 12c, or above.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize outdated ETL processes in a homegrown environment.
  • Design automation processes through job scheduling tools like Autosys or Control M.
  • Prepare data for reporting to simplify complex data processing tasks.
  • Gather requirements from product teams, including Product Owners and Business Analysts.
  • Feed data into dashboards for regulatory reporting and analytics.
  • Perform performance tuning and ensure efficient data handling.
  • Utilize dynamic SQL and parallel processing techniques.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL programming.
  • 7+ years of experience in Oracle SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience in data warehouse and large data processing.
  • Experience with Unix shell scripting.
  • 3+ years of experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience in Python programming.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Cloud migration.
  • Familiarity with nCino and its data transformation processes.
  • Knowledge of JSON functions for data manipulation.
