About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer position at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is a critical role that requires a strong technical background in SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell programming. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle, and will be proficient in PostgreSQL as an additional asset. This role involves working with the Informatica Platform, where the developer will apply best practices for Informatica PowerCenter, Data Transformation, and Informatica B2B Data Exchange products. A strong understanding of Informatica design concepts is essential for success in this position. In this role, the developer will be responsible for creating complex database objects, including Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL. The position also requires expertise in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query rewriting, and the use of Explain Plan and Hints. The developer will work with collections, exception handling, partitioning techniques, and analytics functions, ensuring that all database operations are efficient and effective. The Oracle PL/SQL Developer will also need to be comfortable working in a UNIX/Linux environment and have experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SDLC best practices. Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket is preferred. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of DevOps practices, including the use of tools like UC4, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes. A good understanding of object-oriented analysis and design principles is also necessary. Candidates should have a solid grasp of programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, or React, as well as JPA, Spring Boot, XML, and JSON. Experience with API gateways, such as Gravitee, is a plus. Responsibilities

  • Implement best practices in Informatica design concepts and ETL processes.
  • Work with collections, exception handling, partitioning techniques, and analytics functions.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment using Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
  • Utilize DevOps tools and practices, including UC4, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD.
  • Engage with programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, or React, and API gateways.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell (or Perl or Python).
  • Extensive proficiency in modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Informatica Platform and best practices for Informatica PowerCenter and Data Transformation.
  • Strong ETL and data modeling experience, including creating mappings and workflows.
  • Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
  • Solid experience with UNIX/Linux platforms and command line tools.
