About the position
The Oracle PL/SQL Developer position involves creating and maintaining back-end software for mission-critical applications in a banking environment. The role requires strong technical skills in PL/SQL and SQL, as well as the ability to interpret business requirements and collaborate with internal teams. The developer will also be responsible for debugging legacy code and providing production support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements analysis
- Take direction from senior developers
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce software
- Write clean, scalable code
- Unit test and prepare applications for deployment
- Revise, update, refactor and debug code
- Improve existing software
- Create documentation as required
- Provide production support
- Available to provide third tier support to the help desk on assigned weekends and holidays if needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a PL/SQL Application Developer using Toad, SQL Plus (minimum 5 years)
- Ability to create views, packages, functions, and stored procedures
- Ability to work with collections
- Ability to work with async processes
- Interpret execution plans and optimize queries and functions
- Ability to create complex DML and debug
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Attention to detail is of the utmost importance
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of development experience
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with banking clients
- State client experience
