About the position

The Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer will collaborate with a global team of Software Engineers to create high-quality applications for the financial trading industry. This role emphasizes the importance of a proven database developer who is eager to expand their knowledge and skills while being passionate about their work.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality applications servicing the financial trading industry.
• Collaborate with a global team of Software Engineers.
• Perform database development tasks including writing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views.
• Conduct performance tuning of stored procedures and queries.
• Implement ETL processes to load large volumes of data efficiently.
• Work in a Linux environment and utilize basic Unix commands.
• Participate in Agile methodology for project management.
• Engage in database modeling and design activities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle PL/SQL developer.
• 5+ years of experience in the financial industry is a plus.
• Strong RDBMS skills including SQL querying and writing stored procedures.
• Proficient in data analysis, problem-solving, and design skills.
• Experience with performance tuning of stored procedures and queries.
• Knowledge of ETL processes for data loading (e.g., SQL Loader).
• Familiarity with Linux environment and basic Unix commands.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Knowledge of Core Java and Python is a plus.
• Strong data analysis and coding experience in the financial industry, preferably in Capital Markets/Securities Finance.
• Ability to understand financial industry terminologies and glossaries.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
• Good communication skills for interacting with technology and business partners.
• Motivated and adaptable with a positive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS Cloud.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools like Control-M.
