About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer position at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is a critical role that requires a strong technical background in SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell programming. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle, and will be proficient in PostgreSQL as an additional asset. This role involves working with the Informatica Platform, where the developer will apply best practices for Informatica PowerCenter, Data Transformation, and Informatica B2B Data Exchange products. A strong understanding of Informatica design concepts is essential for success in this position. In this role, the developer will be responsible for creating complex database objects, including Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL. The position also requires expertise in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query rewriting, and the use of Explain Plan and Hints. The developer will work with collections, exception handling, partitioning techniques, and analytics functions, ensuring that all database operations are efficient and effective. The Oracle PL/SQL Developer will also need to be comfortable working in a UNIX/Linux environment and have experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SDLC best practices. Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket is preferred. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of DevOps practices, including tools like UC4, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes. A good understanding of object-oriented analysis and design principles is also necessary. Candidates should have a solid foundation in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, or React, as well as JPA, Spring Boot, XML, and JSON. Experience with API gateways, such as Gravitee, is a plus. The Oracle PL/SQL Developer will play a vital role in supporting the technical and business needs of Beacon Hill Technologies, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex database objects such as Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL.
• Create mappings, workflows, and implement ETL concepts using Informatica.
• Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, including query rewriting and using Explain Plan and Hints.
• Utilize standard Oracle packages and dynamic SQL for effective database management.
• Implement best practices in Informatica design concepts and ETL processes.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile environment, utilizing Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
• Engage with DevOps practices, including CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins and Maven.
• Develop and maintain applications using programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, or React.

Requirements

• Excellent working knowledge and experience of SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell (or Perl or Python).
• Extensive proficiency in modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with Informatica Platform and best practices for Informatica PowerCenter and Data Transformation.
• Proficient in ETL and data modeling, including creating mappings and workflows.
• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
• Solid experience with UNIX/Linux platforms and command line tools.
• Agile working experience with Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
• Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools like UC4, Maven, and Jenkins.
