About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer position at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC involves working with a variety of technical skills and tools to develop and maintain database applications. In addition to database development, the candidate will be responsible for creating complex database objects, including Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL. Performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL queries, along with the use of Explain Plan and Hints, will be a critical part of the job. The developer should also have experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and the creation of mappings and workflows. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux platforms and Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SDLC, is also required. The role may involve using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Maven. The position also requires knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design principles, as well as programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, React, JPA, and Spring Boot. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex database objects including Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Perform SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query rewriting, and utilize Explain Plan and Hints for optimization.
  • Create mappings, workflows, and implement ETL concepts using Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica products.
  • Utilize object-oriented analysis and design principles in software development.
  • Work with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SDLC best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members using Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket.
  • Implement CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins and Maven.
  • Develop and maintain applications on UNIX/Linux platforms.
  • Engage in data modeling and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
  • Utilize programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, React, JPA, and Spring Boot.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix Shell (or Perl or Python) programming languages.
  • Extensive proficiency in modern RDBMS products, particularly Oracle (latest version), with PostgreSQL as a plus.
  • Strong experience with Informatica Platform and best practices for Informatica PowerCenter and Data Transformation.
  • Proficient in creating mappings, workflows, and implementing ETL concepts.
  • Experience in developing complex database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers.
  • Knowledge of Standard Oracle Packages (UTL_FILE etc.), Dynamic SQL, Records, Arrays, and PL/SQL tables.
  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL Performance Tuning and query optimization techniques.
  • Solid experience with UNIX/Linux platforms and Agile working experience with Scrum and SDLC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as UC4, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD.
  • Good knowledge of programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Angular, React, JPA, Spring Boot, XML, and JSON.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with API gateways such as Gravitee.
  • Knowledge of Informatica B2B Data Exchange products.
  • Familiarity with analytics functions and external tables in Oracle.
