About the position

We are seeking a skilled Oracle PL SQL Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database development and a passion for optimizing data processes. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining PL SQL applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and administration of the Department of Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products.
  • Prioritize and allocate projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers.
  • Participate in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of software products.
  • Make employment decisions, such as hiring and rewarding team members.
  • Direct software development projects ensuring completion on time and according to quality standards.
  • Facilitate communication across project teams including project status and technical information.
  • Organize projects through development of project plans including communication of product goals, project strategy, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor technology trends for new technology opportunities.
  • Analyze, design, code, unit test, and document/audit checks for assigned system change requests.
  • Ensure system changes meet established developer guide requirements/standards.
  • Participate in system requirements reviews, critical design reviews, and test readiness reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years of experience in lieu of degree).
  • Advanced Oracle PL/SQL skills.
  • Oracle DBMS experience - 12c or higher.
  • JavaScript proficiency.
  • Experience with System Development Life Cycle methodologies (primarily Agile, Waterfall is possible).
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle Reports and Applications Express (APEX).
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
