About the position

The Oracle PL/SQL Developer will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting various applications within the client's portfolio, focusing on a specific division's application portfolio. This role requires extensive experience with Oracle Forms, Oracle PL/SQL, PHP, and Classic ASP to ensure application stability and address ongoing support needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for business applications to ensure their stability and effectiveness.
  • Assist in the documentation and preparation of requirements and specifications for the applications.
  • Develop, translate, and code software programs and applications according to defined specifications.
  • Create and maintain user manuals, guidelines, and other documentation to assist users.
  • Work with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues.
  • Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on coding standards, problem-solving, and application development best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with Oracle databases, capable of writing complex SQL queries and developing complex PL/SQL objects, including DML and DDL.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing Oracle Forms.
  • Strong experience with database and SQL performance tuning (3+ years).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing as a full-stack developer.
  • Proficiency in application reporting development, particularly with PHP and Classic ASP 3.0.
  • Familiarity with code repositories, ideally Git.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of relational database designs, ISDM methodologies, database security (role-based), and query tools like TOAD, SQL Developer, or SQL Navigator.
  • Proficiency in Unified Modeling Language (UML) for documenting system architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Oracle certification(s) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
  • Experience in XML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (such as JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS, or React) for web development.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory processes is beneficial.
