About the position

The Oracle Process Lead - Engineering position at American Woodmark is a pivotal role that focuses on leading the digital transformation efforts related to Engineering and Maintenance within the Manufacturing Oracle implementation team. This position requires a strong collaboration with Oracle Process Specialists and serves as a change advocate within the Engineering function. The successful candidate will work closely with key maintenance personnel, engineers, and various organizational user groups to ensure that workstream issues are escalated promptly, facilitating on-time program delivery. The Process Lead will be responsible for managing business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the Engineering and maintenance areas, highlighting variations in business processes, and leading the effort to realign these processes with system constraints. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in business and engineering roles, demonstrating proficiency in statistics, cycle time analysis, and continuous improvement methods. They will be expected to participate actively in business process workshops, providing valuable insights into design activities and co-facilitating discussions to guide participants through the design process. The role also involves reviewing functionality, validating configuration decisions, and supporting data validation activities, prototype testing cycles, and conversion activities. The Process Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring readiness for Go Live discussions and will be accountable for delivering the program within their function or sub-function. This position does not have direct reports but requires the ability to influence multiple organizational levels. The Process Lead will manage resources effectively, monitor needs for timely escalation of resource constraints, and drive stakeholder management in collaboration with the broader program team. The role demands strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital transformation efforts related to Engineering and Maintenance for the Manufacturing Oracle implementation team.
  • Act as change advocates/champions within the Engineering function.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and manage business SMEs within the Engineering and maintenance areas.
  • Highlight and summarize variations in business processes and lead in rebuilding processes to align with system constraints.
  • Participate in Business Process workshops and provide business process knowledge.
  • Co-facilitate and guide participants through design workshops.
  • Support identification of changes to process maps during workshops.
  • Align across the broader business community on newly designed processes.
  • Review functionality and validate configuration decisions.
  • Support data validation activities and prototype testing cycles.
  • Manage updates/communications and drive stakeholder management in collaboration with the broader program team.
  • Provide input/feedback into change program activities/materials as needed.
  • Act as change advocates/champions within functions and with key end user groups.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Engineering role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, cycle time analysis, continuous improvement methods, and cost studies.
  • Knowledge of SAP/APO, Preventive maintenance, or other software related to engineering is preferred.
  • Experience implementing enterprise-wide system or software projects is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Operations, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a broad understanding of engineering functions.
  • Ability to think and work strategically and tactically.
  • Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment.
  • Leadership and management skills in a client-provider environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle systems or similar ERP software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and best practices.
