This position is primarily an Oracle/PostgreSQL production support DBA role with responsibilities that include developing, implementing, and maintaining RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development. The role will involve coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and approving the physical database requirements of databases and all associated objects, such as, but not limited to the applications that access the RDBMS structures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher), Very Large DB (VLDB) migration, and Azure experience. They must have OLTP, transaction processing, or healthcare experience, as well as experience with building/migrating databases to Azure and using Docker images. The role also requires DBA tools for performance tuning and capacity planning, Oracle upgrade experience, and familiarity with Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication, and RAC. Additionally, partitioning experience and the ability to manage multiple database instances are essential. The candidate should also be prepared to work in a 24-hour on-call support rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development.
  • Coordinate, review, analyze, and approve the physical database requirements of databases and associated objects.
  • Manage extensive experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher).
  • Oversee Very Large DB (VLDB) migration and Azure experience.
  • Handle OLTP, transaction processing, or healthcare experience.
  • Build/migrate databases to Azure and utilize Docker images.
  • Perform performance tuning and capacity planning using DBA tools.
  • Conduct Oracle upgrades and manage Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication, and RAC.
  • Implement partitioning and manage multiple database instances.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support rotation.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or equivalent work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with Oracle Databases.
  • 5+ years of experience with Relational Database Management Systems with a combination of Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher).
  • 5+ years of experience with systems development methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with the design, creation, and maintenance of database structures.
  • 5+ years of experience with the development and revision of database standards, procedures, and strategies.
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure VLDB environments.
  • 3+ years of experience with a combination of SQLSERVER 2008/2012/2014/2016/2017.
