This position is primarily an Oracle/PostgreSQL production support DBA role with responsibilities that include developing, implementing, and maintaining RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development. The successful candidate will coordinate, review, analyze, and approve the physical database requirements of databases and all associated objects, such as, but not limited to the applications that access the RDBMS structures. The role requires extensive experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher), as well as Very Large DB (VLDB) migration Azure experience. Candidates must have OLTP, transaction processing, or healthcare experience, and experience with building/migrating databases to Azure and using Docker images. The DBA tools will be utilized for Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning, and Oracle upgrade experience is essential. Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication, and RAC is a must, along with partitioning and experience running multiple database instances. Resource management within the database is required, although this does not involve people management. The ability to work in a 24-hour on-call support rotation is also necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain RDBMS structures to support business needs and application development.
  • Coordinate, review, analyze, and approve the physical database requirements of databases and associated objects.
  • Utilize DBA tools for Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning.
  • Manage Oracle upgrade processes and ensure database integrity.
  • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate Replication, and RAC.
  • Oversee partitioning and resource management within the database.
  • Support the migration of Very Large DB (VLDB) to Azure environments.
  • Work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or equivalent work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with Oracle Databases.
  • 5+ years of experience with Relational Database Management Systems with a combination of Oracle and PostgreSQL (version 12 or higher).
  • 5+ years of experience with systems development methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with the design, creation, and maintenance of database structures.
  • 5+ years of experience with the development and revision of database standards, procedures, and strategies.
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure VLDB environments.
  • 3+ years of experience with a combination of SQLSERVER 2008/2012/2014/2016/2017.
