About the position

The Solution Engineer role at Oracle is a critical position that involves leveraging ERP Cloud and Public Sector knowledge to collaborate with field sales executives. The primary focus is on solving complex customer problems and translating requirements into functional solutions, thereby driving the success of Oracle's Cloud Applications in North America. This position requires a strong background in ERP solutions, particularly in Government Accounting, and involves working closely with sales teams to develop strategies and execute sales processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and specialist knowledge in applying Oracle solutions to client business challenges.
  • Facilitate customer solution understanding through meetings, presentations, and demonstrations throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead presales functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Focus on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions.
  • Develop and deliver outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations, leading or supporting all aspects of the sales process.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and innovation on the Cloud ERP/EPM platform.

Requirements

  • Experience with ERP solutions and a strong Accounting background, preferably in Government.
  • 3 years of pre-sales or related experience.
  • 7 years of business experience with relevant business applications.
  • High-level understanding of all aspects of ERP: Financials, Procure to Pay, Plan to Build, Quote to Cash, Projects and Grants, Reporting, Data Quality.
  • Thorough knowledge of system and application design and in-depth knowledge of competitors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, needs analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques.
  • Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.
  • A/BS in Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
  • CPA Certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Governmental Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in Essbase ASO cubes and Hyperion Financial Reports.
  • Experience with Public Sector ERP solutions.
