About the position

The Oracle Developer position focuses on developing software solutions for the financial services sector, specifically within the insurance industry. The role requires expertise in Oracle, Oracle Forms, and PL SQL, with responsibilities including software development, client liaison, and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop software using Oracle, Oracle Forms, and PL SQL.
• Create and agree on work specifications for assigned tasks before commencing development.
• Assist with providing quotes for new development and amendments.
• Carry out necessary application/database modifications as per agreed specifications.
• Liaise with clients to address issues/problems promptly via email, phone, or web-tools.
• Fix technical bugs/issues and manage patch release control.
• Adhere to company standards regarding programming, recording, controlling, and securing developments.
• Ensure technical specifications/requirements are met within agreed deadlines.
• Conduct adequate unit and link testing before releases are made.
• Prepare release documentation for all new developments in the agreed format.

Requirements

• At least 2 to 5 years of commercial experience in Oracle development.
• Proficiency in Oracle Forms and PL SQL.
• Experience in developing applications for the financial services sector, particularly in life insurance, pensions, fund, or wealth management systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with web technologies such as HTML.
• Familiarity with RedHat/JBoss.
