About the position
The Oral Surgery Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth workflow in the dental practice. Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to dentists during procedures including preparation and documentation.
- Educate patients on their treatment plans and maintain their oral health.
- Provide excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists, including charting and operatory set-up and clean-up.
- Take dental radiographs/x-rays when prescribed along with all other dental assisting tasks.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills when performing clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and managing patient records.
- Handle financial information, perform insurance verification, and prepare end-of-day reports with a focus on quality control.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills to connect with team members and patients in a friendly manner.
- Maintain electronic records of patient interactions, prepare estimates, and collect/post payments.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Dental Assistant certification.
- 1 year of dental assisting experience (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable and skilled in quality control when handling financial information.
