About the position

The Order Entry Specialist at Aston Carter is responsible for creating, coordinating, and managing quotes and purchase orders within a designated region. This role requires collaboration with various teams, including sales, engineering, and customer service, to provide exceptional support and service to clients. The specialist acts as the main point of contact for the factory in their territory, ensuring effective communication and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Generate quotes for standard and custom modification lighting products in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Enter purchase orders received into the company MRP system.
  • Act as a liaison between Representatives, sales managers, and internal staff.
  • Provide product pricing and availability information via phone and email to company sales representatives.
  • Work with Sales Engineer and other departments to provide project documentation and support.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the functions, features, and benefits of the company's product offerings.
  • Assist Sales with costing quotes to improve profitability requests, including calculating figures such as discounts, commission, percentages, and fractions.
  • Analyze construction drawings and documentation to determine proper system functionality and costs.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain effective communication with Inside Sales Manager and Regional Sales Managers to streamline the quoting and ordering process.
  • Maintain and update the company MRP/CRM database.
  • Assist Reps and Regional Sales Managers with solutions on customer application requests.
  • Work with Sales Engineer to assist with product specification and technical questions.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training programs.
  • Maintain open communications with clients regarding the status of quotes and released orders.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Test Required)
  • Experience in order fulfillment, reporting, supply chain, order entry, data entry, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • 2+ Years experience in an order entry type capacity.
  • Bachelor Degree.
