About the position

The Order Entry Technician at Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is responsible for interpreting prescriptions, entering data into the pharmacy filling system, and ensuring timely and accurate claim adjudication. This full-time role emphasizes quality and care in executing pharmacy services, contributing to the overall mission of enabling healthy lives through personalized pharmacy services.

Responsibilities

• Read and review prescriptions; enter prescription data into the pharmacy filling system
• Interpret medical abbreviations
• Troubleshoot pharmacy orders from facilities to obtain missing information
• Record communication concerning orders within patient records
• Maintain electronic documentation related to orders within patient profiles
• Provide customer service to callers regarding orders
• Assist with claim billing and adjudication to third party payers

Requirements

• Previous work experience in a pharmacy setting required
• Experience with order entry preferred
• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification or postsecondary education in pharmacy technician program preferred
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and handle other computer components
• Intermediate computer/keyboard skills
• Ability to read and decipher written medical documents with speed and accuracy
