About the position

Fastenal is hiring for the position of Order Fulfillment Specialist, a crucial role in product movement and inventory management within the industrial distribution sector. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to gain invaluable experience in a dynamic work environment. The work schedule is structured from Monday to Friday, extending from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of working up to 24 hours per week. After successfully completing onboarding and training, employees may have the opportunity for a flexible schedule based on performance objectives. As an Order Fulfillment Specialist, you will be responsible for efficiently managing and maintaining branch inventory, which is integral to the overall success of the business. This includes ensuring adequate space and storage for inventory, making local deliveries using a company vehicle, and creating and enforcing guidelines for workplace cleanliness and safety. The role also requires going the extra mile to help the branch succeed by performing additional tasks as needed. The position requires a strong sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks and ensuring that all work is completed accurately and to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to the company's core values of drive, resourcefulness, righteousness, and synergy. Additionally, the role involves physical demands, including moving parcels that weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs, with the potential to weigh up to 75lbs, necessitating proper lifting and transporting techniques.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • A currently valid driver's license issued by the same country as the work location is required.
  • Excellent communication proficiency is necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask in a rapidly evolving work setting.
  • Strong organizational management, planning, and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Self-motivation and a customer-service focus are important.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks is required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment is valuable.
  • Must be able to lift, slide, transport, and lower parcels weighing between 25lbs and 75lbs.
  • Must pass the required drug test applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
