About the position

The Order Packer/Material position involves handling various warehouse tasks including picking, palletizing, labeling, and loading merchandise for delivery. The role requires the safe operation of forklifts and other equipment, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. This is a temporary, full-time contract position based in Riverdale, NJ, offering a pay rate of $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Picking, palletizing, labeling, wrapping, and loading merchandise onto trucks for delivery.
• Safely operating forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveying materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets or shelves, or conveying orders to packing stations or shipping departments.
• Marking materials with identifying information.
• Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
• Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighing or counting items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformity to company standards.
• Compiling worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Preparing parcels for mailing.
• Maintaining inventory records.

Requirements

• Experience in warehouse operations.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
• Strong attention to detail for inventory management.
