About the position
Ocean Beauty Seafoods is looking for an order packer for our Portland, OR distribution center! This is a full-time position working the swing shift.
Responsibilities
- Properly pick and pack each frozen order accurately by customer standards and specifications
- Properly rotate and pick frozen product to specifications
- Properly label boxes with customer name, route number, weights, and contents in each box
- Weigh product or count pieces before packing and record weights/counts with 100% accuracy
- Understand safety and manufacturing practices in the handling of food products
- Receives incoming product and records weight, number of boxes, species, counts, each, size
Requirements
- Experience in the handling and processing of frozen meat or seafood
- Ability to make decisions and work with plant and sales personnel
- Some understanding of inventory control and production desired
- Accurate in recording of product information
- Basic understanding of math and ability to communicate with all employees, especially sales staff
- Self starter with good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Good safety record
- Experience with Pallet Jack
