About the position
The Selector position at US Foods involves safely and accurately selecting customer orders in a warehouse environment. This role is crucial for ensuring that products are delivered accurately and on time, contributing to the overall efficiency of the foodservice industry. Selectors work flexible schedules, often in a multi-temperature environment, and are compensated competitively with opportunities for productivity bonuses and annual pay increases.
Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately select customer orders.
- Build and wrap pallets to meet weekly standards for productivity and accuracy.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate an electric pallet.
- Carefully move products from racks to pallets directed by order selecting software and equipment.
- Validate that correct product has been selected and is damage-free.
- Efficiently deliver products to the correct dock area and shrink wrap palletized orders.
- Team up to clear aisles of debris, stack empty pallets from slots in the aisle, and return pallet jacks to the charging area.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language for training and safety purposes.
- Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday - Thursday, with occasional weekends and holidays required.
- Recent experience in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred, such as lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, or construction work.
- Experience selecting large scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred.
- Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment preferred.
