About the position

The Order Selector position at Vistar involves selecting and preparing food and non-food products for customer orders in a warehouse environment. The role requires operating pallet jacks and forklifts to transport items, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while maintaining productivity. This position is essential for supporting America's food distribution system and offers opportunities for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Select cases and containers of food and non-food products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems.
• Place pallets on pallet jack and operate along assigned multi-level racks to locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually place appropriate stock items on pallets from pick slots and racks as required.
• Transport completed palletized customer orders to the shipping dock staging area.
• Perform safety checks on pallet jacks/forklifts and ensure all safety devices are functioning properly.
• Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Remove and replace batteries requiring recharging and complete vehicle inspection checklist at the end of the shift.
• Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 6-12 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience
• Must be able to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout the shift
• Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout the shift
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. cooler, freezer, and dry
• Pass pre-employment drug test

Nice-to-haves

• 1-3 years warehouse and/or distribution work experience
• Foodservice distribution or related industry experience
• Experience using a motorized pallet jack
• Motorized pallet jack certified
