About the position

ABBTECH Professional Resources, Inc. is seeking an Organizational Change Manager/Business Process Manager to enhance the delivery of IT projects within the utility industry. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a challenging environment and are motivated by variety. The position involves working with large information technology projects across various customer business areas, particularly at an Investor-Owned Utility client based in Seattle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Business Process Management (BPM) and Organizational Change Management (OCM), with a focus on requirements elicitation to effectively drive initiatives forward and lay the groundwork for future technology enablement. The successful candidate will possess expertise in BPM methodologies, particularly the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework, as well as OCM methodologies such as Prosci. A strong asset and work management background in the electric utility sector is essential, and experience with Oracle Work and Asset Management System (WAMS) or Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) applications will be highly regarded. This role requires the ability to gather existing process documentation, assess its completeness, and update it based on current practices. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing future state process documentation, conducting gap analyses, and preparing functional requirements documentation for technology projects. The Organizational Change Manager will also assess the change impact of proposed solutions, develop change management strategies, and implement comprehensive training plans. The role involves significant collaboration with business stakeholders, process owners, and business champions to ensure successful adoption of changes and to monitor progress through regular status reports. The candidate will need to demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position is remote but requires some travel (less than 25%).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare functional requirements documentation for WACS Phase II technology project.
  • Assess the change impact of proposed solutions and identify potential resistance to change.
  • Develop a preliminary Change Management strategy and plan for technology-dependent process changes.
  • Prepare, develop, and implement a Change Management Plan including an internal communications plan.
  • Coordinate and deliver the scope of work, including scheduling and presiding over meetings.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and define 'OCM Hi-Potentials' based on influence and change capability.
  • Monitor progress with weekly status reports and facilitate meetings.
  • Transfer knowledge to customers and collaborate on adoption preparation and communication activities.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate impacts of change.
  • Prepare, develop, and implement a comprehensive Training Plan with high-quality training materials.
