About the position

A top IT consulting firm is seeking an Organizational Change Management (OCM) specialist to join their team for a yearlong contract, with the possibility of extensions. The primary focus of this role is to lead and support change initiatives associated with the legacy modernization of several critical software applications. This position is vital for ensuring a smooth transition and adoption of new technologies throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will excel in a challenging work environment, showcasing strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively engage with a variety of stakeholders, including senior-level executives, the training team, and end-users. The OCM specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing change management strategies that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance. This includes conducting stakeholder analyses, creating change readiness reports, and facilitating training sessions to ensure that all users are well-prepared for the transition. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential challenges and developing solutions to address them, ensuring that the organization can successfully navigate the complexities of software modernization. In addition to technical skills, the OCM specialist must possess excellent communication abilities to convey the importance of the changes to all levels of the organization. The candidate will work closely with various teams to foster a culture of collaboration and support throughout the change process, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the IT transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support change initiatives related to legacy modernization of critical software applications.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance.
  • Conduct stakeholder analyses to identify key groups and their needs during the change process.
  • Create change readiness reports to assess the organization's preparedness for new technologies.
  • Facilitate training sessions for end-users to ensure they are equipped to use new systems effectively.
  • Engage with senior-level executives and other stakeholders to communicate the importance of the changes and gather feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience working as an OCM, particularly in large-scale software modernization or IT transformation projects
  • Experience working in a challenging environment with diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leadership and end users
  • Experience with creating stakeholder analyses
  • Experience with creating change readiness reports
  • SharePoint experience
  • Strong communicator
  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) is a plus
  • Experience in the public sector or in a highly regulated industry
