Responsibilities

  • Provide orientation and mobility training to students in school settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Assess students' mobility needs and create tailored strategies to enhance their independence.
  • Conduct training sessions for students on safe travel techniques and environmental awareness.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Requirements

  • Current O&M Certification in Virginia.
  • Previous school experience preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with children with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
