About the position

The Originating Loan Officer Assistant at Guild Mortgage Company plays a crucial role in supporting the mortgage origination process by ensuring compliance with underwriting standards, managing client communications, and facilitating the loan application process. This position requires active MLO licensing and involves a variety of tasks including file management, customer service, and marketing support to enhance loan production.

Responsibilities

  • Review files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensure completeness of submission.
  • Contact borrowers and/or mortgage brokers to collect necessary documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers.
  • Track key dates of transactions and maintain customer contact for loan application follow-up.
  • Manage client and referral partner databases.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding locked status and loan application status.
  • Resolve file problems, bottlenecks, and qualifying issues throughout production and underwriting process.
  • Provide administrative support in the collection and preparation of loan applications with supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate, create, track, and distribute marketing materials.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties required by Guild Mortgage Company or Managing Loan Officer.
  • Assist through production and underwriting process, preparing and submitting loan applications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, keeping them informed throughout the process.
  • Obtain accurate and thorough 1003 forms and analyze customers' credit and financial scenarios.
  • Determine appropriate loan products and obtain accurate AUS findings.
  • Price profitable loans and communicate fees to the operations team.
  • Quote rates and make commitments regarding locking to customers.
  • Disclose initial 1003 and disclosures to customers according to regulations.
  • Collect supporting documentation from customers and discuss product features with them.
  • Submit viable loans to processing and review HUD-1 to ensure consistency with commitments.

Requirements

  • Active MLO Licensing required.
  • 2-5 years of experience for LOA Level 1.
  • 5+ years of experience for LOA Level 2.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing to referral sources to generate leads and loan production.
