About the position

The Originations Specialist role at SoFi is a full-time, entry-level position focused on providing hands-on learning experiences within the Lending Operations team. This role primarily involves inbound member support, where specialists assist members with inquiries related to Student Loan and Personal Loan applications. The position includes a comprehensive ten-week training program, preparing individuals for potential growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to member inbound inquiries via phone and chat regarding SoFi's Student Loan and Personal Loan applications.
  • Take ownership of resolving member inquiries and foresee causes of additional inquiries.
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, problem-solving skills, and relationship management.
  • Follow compliance and regulatory guidelines to protect sensitive information.
  • Share insights with teammates regarding the root causes of member inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
  • Advocate on members' behalf to improve products, operations, and policies.
  • Document member interactions using appropriate templates.
  • Develop strong knowledge of internal processes and procedures to ensure quality loan system data and documentation.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Passion for helping others while solving problems quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google products, data visualization tools, customer service tools, and admin tools.
  • Self-starter mentality with analytical skills for task management.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply new information quickly.
  • Ability to identify trends in day-to-day work and adjust accordingly.
  • Establish productive working relationships with co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, high accuracy, and attention to detail.
