About the position

The Provider On-Boarding Specialist at Orlando Health Medical Group is responsible for coordinating the onboarding process for new providers. This role ensures that all necessary steps are completed for providers to begin their employment on the intended start date, providing personalized support throughout the onboarding lifecycle. The specialist will manage communications, documentation, and collaboration with various teams to facilitate a smooth transition for new hires into the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Takes lead and project management oversight on ensuring all necessary steps have been taken for providers to begin employment on their intended start date.
  • Ensures each provider receives personalized support with end-to-end process handling during each stage of the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Provides an overview of the steps, timeline, and required documents to the provider, highlighting areas requiring their involvement.
  • Provides input to operations and physician contracting on realistic start dates based on resource availability.
  • Leads meetings and regular communications to support and recommend appropriate prioritization of onboarding providers.
  • Ensures all credentialing and privileging paperwork from the provider has been submitted timely and accurately.
  • Assists internal and external legal teams with compiling necessary documentation for employment visa sponsorship.
  • Collaborates with the credentialing team and provider to address any missing application documents or concerns.
  • Facilitates dialogue with administrators and clinical teams to identify appropriate contractual start dates relative to onboarding requirements.
  • Works with other departments to improve efficiency and advance onboarding process strategies.
  • Investigates and resolves communication or process issues affecting providers' start dates.
  • Maintains progress reports and communicates onboarding status with internal stakeholders.
  • Aids in establishing an ongoing working relationship between the provider, OHMG operations, and hospital administration.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree required.
  • Two (2) years of onboarding, medical group operations, credentialing, or related experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
