About the position

The position involves providing direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting, focusing on orthopedic and neuro spine rehabilitation. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and tailored care plans. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while educating patients and their families about managing their health conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on managing their illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patients or caregivers.
  • Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing
  • No prior nursing experience required
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
