About the position
Geisinger is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Hand Surgeon to join its expanding Musculoskeletal Institute, which is recognized nationally for its quality, innovation, research, and education in orthopedic care. The role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with various orthopedic conditions, including those affecting the hand and wrist, while also engaging with local athletes. The position emphasizes a commitment to improving patient mobility and quality of life through advanced surgical practices and collaborative care with a large team of specialists.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with orthopedic conditions, particularly in hand surgery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practitioners.
- Engage in teaching and research opportunities within the Musculoskeletal Institute.
- Participate in optimizing patient access to care.
- Support the development of innovative practices in orthopedic surgery.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
- Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in orthopedic surgery, particularly in hand and wrist procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health records, specifically Epic.
