About the position

Valley Health is seeking an orthopedic trauma Physician Assistant (PA) to join an exceptional team of highly skilled, tenured orthopedic surgeons at Winchester Medical Center, which is the main campus within a six-hospital system. This role offers a balanced 50/50 split between inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, allowing for a diverse range of experiences in the orthopedic field. PAs in this position are typically scheduled from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, four days a week, providing a structured work-life balance. In this role, you will join two surgeons and one experienced PA, where you will assist with patient admittance, surgical follow-up, and hospital rounding. The position also includes daytime call responsibilities and first assist opportunities during surgeries. This is an excellent opportunity to partner with a collegial team of physicians and mid-level providers in a highly managed ICU setting, ensuring high-quality patient care and collaboration. The practice encompasses all aspects of Critical Care Medicine, including neurosciences and cardiac surgery, providing a comprehensive learning environment. Additionally, there are opportunities to teach allied health students and family practice residents if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient admittance and surgical follow-up

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
  • A team-oriented approach to patient care
  • Ability to work in a highly managed ICU setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
